Bunglow Vastu
Building or buying your own bungalow is one of the biggest decisions of your life. A Vastu-compliant bungalow is not just a beautiful home — it becomes a powerhouse of positive energy that supports every member of the family in health, wealth, career, relationships, and spiritual growth. At VastuKimaya, Dr. Kimaya guides you through every stage of bungalow Vastu — from plot selection and architectural design to interior placement and energy activation.
Stage 1: Plot Selection for Bungalow
The foundation of a Vastu-compliant bungalow begins with the right plot. Key factors to evaluate:
- Shape — Square or rectangular plots are ideal. Avoid L-shaped or triangular plots.
- Slope — The plot should slope towards North or East for positive energy inflow.
- Road facing — North or East-facing plots are most auspicious.
- Underground water — Borewell and water sources should be in North or North-East.
- Surroundings — No graveyard, cremation ground, or hospital immediately adjacent.
- Soil — Soil should be firm, clean, and have no history of toxic waste or burial.
Stage 2: Building Layout & Architecture
Once the plot is finalized, the building layout must be designed with Vastu principles:
Main Gate
The main gate of the compound should be in the North, East, or North-East direction. The gate should be well-lit, inviting, and never blocked by a tree or structure directly in front.
Main Entrance Door
The main door of the bungalow should ideally be in the North, East, or North-East. It should be larger than other doors and made of high-quality solid wood.
Room Placement by Direction
| Direction | Ideal Room | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| North-East | Mandir / Open Space | Spiritual energy, mental clarity, wisdom |
| East | Bathroom / Living Room | Health, vitality, morning sun energy |
| South-East | Kitchen | Fire zone — ideal for cooking |
| South | Store Room / Staircase | Heavy storage, stability |
| South-West | Master Bedroom | Stability, authority, deep sleep |
| West | Children’s Room / Dining | Discipline, nourishment |
| North-West | Guest Room / Garage | Movement, guest energy |
| North | Living Room / Study | Wealth zone, career, new opportunities |
| Centre (Brahmasthan) | OPEN — No construction | Energy hub — must remain open and clean |
Stage 3: Garden & Exterior Vastu
- Garden, swimming pool, or water body — best in North or East of the plot
- Tall trees — plant only in South or West to avoid blocking sunlight from North/East
- Tulsi plant — ideal in North-East or East of the garden
- Compound wall — South and West walls should be higher and thicker than North and East walls
- Garage — ideal in South-East or North-West corner of the plot
Stage 4: Interior & Decor Vastu
- Use earthy, warm tones for the South and South-West walls (brown, terracotta, yellow)
- Use cool, light colors for North and East walls (white, cream, light blue, light green)
- Staircases should be in the South, South-West, or West — never in the North-East
- Overhead water tank should be in the South-West area and never in the North-East
- Septic tank should be in the North-West or South-East — never in the North-East or South-West
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| When is the best time to do Vastu for a bungalow? | Ideally before construction begins — at the plot selection stage. However, Vastu assessment and remedies are highly effective at any stage, including after construction and occupation. |
| Can I modify the bungalow layout during construction based on Vastu? | Yes, and this is the best time! Dr. Kimaya offers design-stage consultancy where room placements, entrance positions, and internal layouts are optimized before construction begins, saving cost and effort. |
| What is Brahmasthan and why should it be open? | Brahmasthan is the central zone of any Vastu space — it is the energy hub that distributes prana (life energy) to all other zones. Any construction, pillar, staircase, or toilet in the centre blocks this flow, affecting the entire home. |
| We have an L-shaped plot. Can a bungalow be built on it? | L-shaped plots are considered to have a ‘cut’ in one direction, which can create specific Vastu defects. Dr. Kimaya can advise on how to design the bungalow layout to minimize the impact of the irregular shape. |
